I have been involved in art since I was a little girl, and the talent
runs in the family. In high school I learned the history and
fundamentals. Then in college, I continued to explore and expand my
knowledge on techniques, mediums, styles and trends from the past and
present. Advancing through the program brought new challenges and I
enjoyed successfully tackling each of them. In four years I graduated
from Winthrop University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual
Communication and Design, with a concentration in Illustration. After
which, I moved to Atlanta, Georgia where the art world is thriving.
I found that creating the impossible is what drives me. Everyday I
strive to create a world that has yet to be imagined.
The E! True Hollywood Story - Behind the Flamingo
When I was younger, I would often stand comfortably on one leg, with
the opposite foot resting on the knee of the standing leg. I'm not
exactly sure why I would stand this way, but my parents would say I
looked like a flamingo. To this day, if you catch me drawing or
painting there is a good chance I'll be in the "flamingo" position. In
college, I wanted to find a signature. I needed a mark that anyone could
recognize. When considering the possibilities, I remembered the
flamingo. Simple yet unique.
